i got a rayovac battery charger and energizer rechargeable batteries and i want to know if i can use energizer batteries with the rayovac charger or do i have to have rayovac batteries or do the batteries just have to be Rechargeable?

Depends on which Rayovac charger you have.
The Rayovac Renewal system is for Rayovac’s rechargable Renewal alkaline batteries only.
If the charger is for NiMH batteries, you may use other brands of NiMH batteries.
If the charger is for NiCd batteries, you may use other brands of NiCd batteries.
