They can both be charged in a normal battery charger though safety instructions warn against it, what’s the difference?

Batteries use a chemical reaction to release the energy within them. rechargable batteries use a chemical reaction that can safely be reversed and done over again, while non rechargable batteries use a chemical reaction that is not safe to reverse.

    simple. rechargeable means you can you can recharge it over and over again while non-rechargeable is disposable. do not attempt to recharge the non-rechargeables because it will cause fire and explosion.

    If you try to recharge a regular alkeline battery you’ll find out the difference in a hurry. Be prepared to call 911!
