Beware of cheap places. They tend to be ripoff artists. You might try eBay. If you are patient and careful you can get a good buy.
Have you tried a sob story on Canon yet? I’ve had good results with a tent and head-torch manufacturers. My ploy was to politely ask about spares and they took pity on me!
I know you’re shocked at the Amazon price, so how about a more versatile alternative – an Ansmann Digicharger [1]. It will charge your Canon battery as well as normal AA cells, etc. I have a “normal” mains powered Ansmann and am very happy with the boost it’s given to my AA batteries performance.
PS. What’s a “shirt” story?
